Aerospace consultant, Pat Costantini will share his 35 years of experience in the satellite industry to discuss how we are dependent on satellites in our everyday lives. His interactive talk will touch on how satellites function, the different types of satellites, and our socio-economic dependency on satellite technology.
Pat Costantini is a consultant in the field of aerospace management. He presently is the program manager for a team of consultants overseeing the Sky Perfect JCSAT -18 High Throughput Satellite designed and built at Boeing Satellite Systems.Ìý He initiated his career as an antenna engineer at Hughes Space and Communications in 1982.Ìý Early in his career, Pat worked to develop designs, materials, and processes for lightweight, high performance satellite composite structures. He has worked on several US government and commercial satellite projects. Pat was instrumental in the development of the first DirecTV and XM-Sirius direct broadcast satellite systems. Over his career, Pat has held several technical, operations, and program management positions. ÌýAt Boeing Defense Systems, Pat was the Supplier Program Manager overseeing all Boeing outsourced satellite and aircraft structures. ÌýPat received his B.S Degree from UCLA in Materials Science and M.S. Degree from USC in Materials Engineering. He also holds several business and program management certificates.
